What to expect

If you don’t find what you’re looking for, just reach out—I’m happy to chat and help however I can!
What should I expect during our first session?
During our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your goals, challenges, and any background information you think is important. It’s also a time for you to ask me any questions and see if we’re a good fit for working together. It’s totally normal to feel a little nervous at first—my goal is to make you feel comfortable and heard.
How often will we meet?
Most clients find that weekly or bi-weekly sessions work best, especially in the beginning, to establish momentum and trust. As we progress, we can discuss adjusting the frequency to suit your needs. The frequency of sessions is always a collaborative decision!

As a therapist, I do not prescribe medication. However, if you feel that medication could be helpful, I’m happy to provide recommendations for trusted psychiatrists or other healthcare providers who can evaluate your needs. I believe in a holistic approach, and sometimes medication can be part of the journey.

Life happens, and sometimes things come up! I ask that you notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. If you miss a session without giving 24 hours' notice, there may be a late cancellation fee. I value your time and want to make sure we stay on track toward your goals!
-
I do not. Over the years, I have found that it works better to have a full intake session and determine fit. If we find after the intake we are not a fit, we will discuss referral options at that time.
